A creative space
Paintings by Helena Caspersen
I find my inspiration in the shapes, colors and moods of nature – especially in flowers, forests and mountains. It is often in the quiet encounter with the landscape that ideas arise.
Painting is my way of being present in the world.
I paint both figuratively and abstractly, often a mix. Abstraction gives me freedom. It gives space for intuition and movement, where brushstrokes and color choices arise in the moment.
I work primarily with acrylics and pastels – materials that let me work layer upon layer and play with transparency and texture. I love when colors meet in unexpected ways and create new moods. I hope that my art can awaken a feeling in the person who sees it – calm, curiosity, joy or thoughtfulness, and that it can help create a special mood in a home, give the room soul and a special atmosphere.
What colors bring life to your spaces?
A home with peace
Soft shades that shape the mood of your home.
When you choose art for your home, you choose more than just decoration – you choose a feeling. Paintings in soft, natural colors have a special ability to create peace and harmony in your space.
These shades create a sensual balance – they dampen visual noise and invite immersion, presence and homeliness. Instead of shouting, they whisper – and their voice is often the one that lingers the longest.
By letting art with natural colors find space on your walls, you open your home to a gentle rhythm. A place where both eyes and mind can find rest.
Are you considering a different color for your wall?
Changing the color of the wall can give your art a completely different expression.
The color of the wall behind a painting is much more than just a background; it is an active player in the aesthetic expression. Just as a frame can highlight certain features of a work of art, the wall color can either support the tone and play of colors of the painting – or create an exciting contrast that makes the subject stand out even more.
When you change the color of the wall, you also change the visual environment in which the work is located. A deep, dark shade can give calm and weight to bright or expressive works, while a light or neutral wall can give complex color compositions room to breathe. Color choice can thus emphasize emotions, progressions and moods in the image, almost like changing the music for a film – suddenly you see something new.
Changing the wall color can also help you see the work with fresh eyes. What you have previously passed by without stopping can suddenly open up with a new background and reveal details you hadn't noticed before.

Dark, High-Contrast Art Draws Us In
Dark art with strong contrasts is a dialogue between light and shadow, presence and absence. The interplay between deep blacks and luminous highlights sharpens our perception, making details more vivid and forms more dramatic.
It is as much about atmosphere, as it is about color. High-contrast art can anchor a room, grounding it with a sense of depth and drama, while also creating moments of surprise when light breaks through.
Shadow invites the mind to wander, and reminds us that beauty is not only found in the bright and obvious, but in the places where the eye must adjust and the soul must lean in to see.
